Our Vision
Integrity- Compassion- Creativity-Wisdom
To be asked for your opinion or to be given a voice is to be given self worth. Self expression comes through many mediums, one of which is through the visual arts. Creating postcards that incorporate both art and words may seem like a small action, but it is exactly what most women want; voice, visibility and compassionate caring.
Receiving a card that is both beautiful and meaningful from a stranger is empowering. Knowing that you are not alone and that someone is trying to help can create resiliency. None of us can hope to effect change single handedly, but together, through collective action, we can help each other.Traveling Postcards believes that all interaction can be a space for transformation. We provide opportunities for anyone to discover their wisdom and to see that their actions can become powerful steps for creating positive change. We answer the question ” What can I do?” We watch and marvel as our participants see their reflections and become leaders, developing new opportunities in their own communities for sustainable change. Our partners are committed and aligned with action based in integrity, compassion, creativity and wisdom.
˜ We provide an opportunity to access your unique voice and share your wisdom with the world.
˜ We offer educational resources for informed action.
˜ We provide a forum for sharing ideas that can make positive change.
˜ We provide hand made art as gifts of compassion and solidarity.
˜ Traveling Postcards solves the problem of “the other” or a disconnection from humanitarian situations that are geographically separate from our own–We provide personal connection to the issues and to individuals. By providing personal connection we make visible what still remains hidden.
˜ We solve the problem of “overwhelm” as often people do not know how they can help.
˜ We work in multiple places at once and are not limited to a central location.
˜ We have a virtual gallery to showplace your voice and work.
