The Gallery of Voices exhibition hopes to provide support and wisdom to all of us who have been affected by domestic violence and connect anyone who needs help to voices of compassion. Since protecting identity is so critical to women who are escaping violence, every woman chose to have either her hands or eyes photographed, knowing that her picture would stand next to her postcard in this gallery. What unique qualities do you see in your card that you love? " It has two pictures; the prayerful hand shows gratitude that creates hope, patience, making wise choices in life and the most important is "love" that is a necessary ingredient of life. The fruitful tree is the outcome of a beautiful life."

After seeing your card, how can you imagine using your voice to effect change in your family, or in your local or global community? " I hope this card will have beyond my understanding an effect on a beautiful person and make them realize that they are special and unique and loved."

Look at the colors you used in your card. What does each color represent you? "I like the orange of the sun because I think it is a strong color and also warm. The blue of the water feels calm." If your card could talk what would it say? " That after the storm comes peace, hope and freedom"

If you received a Traveling Postcard what would you hope that it would say? " That we have rights and we can do anything that sometimes we think is impossible."

If you could hear what the woman who received your postcard was thinking, what would she say? "It makes me happy and peaceful." After seeing your card, how can you imagine using your voice to effect change in your family, or in your local community? "To let women know there is a better place."

What do you know about this woman from looking at her card? "She prays to Mother Mary. She has two children; a boy and girl. She loves her children. She is growing, she is at peace, now she can fly away." What has this woman taught you through her postcard? "There is life after death"

What unique qualities do you see in your card that you love? " That I have crossed many paths to be able to cross this bridge to a better quality of life. Safe and happy."

If your card could talk, what would it say? "Cross bridges because you are worth it. Extending my heart and reaching out to grab your hand. Just because I care and you are worthy."

If you could hear what the woman who received your card was thinking, what would she say about your card? "She would say thank you very much and maybe she would like how a person would send a card without even knowing her."

If you received a Traveling Postcard, what would you hope that it would say? "That I am not alone, that God always is always with you and that the more evil there is, happiness will come."

"Train your thoughts before giving birth to thoughts about yourself that hurt. You are not the negative things other say or would like to see you be. You have always been only what you think about you...so train your thoughts to be beautiful about you."
